Meet our doctors

Dr. Stephen E. Post, a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Ophthalmology, has based his practice in Alameda, California since 1985. A proud graduate of Duke Medical School, Dr. Post completed his ophthalmology residency at Stanford University and Georgetown University. Though he specializes in cataracts, glaucoma and retinal related problems, Dr. Post also sees patients for medical related eye complications as well as routine eye exams. For patients with surgical needs, Dr. Post has privileges at EyeMD Laser and Surgery Center located in Oakland and Alta Bates Medical Center located in Berkeley.

Dr. Eugene Lowry is a board-certified ophthalmologist since 2019. He obtained his Medical Doctorate Degree with distinction from UC San Francisco and continued  to complete his residency training in ophthalmology. After residency, he completed an additional subspecialty, fellowship training in glaucoma at the Devers Eye Institute of Legacy Health and Casey Eye Institute of Oregon Health and Science University in Portland. He graduated with Honors from Stanford University with a major in human biology and minor in chemistry. He has over a dozen first-author publications in the peer-reviewed academic literature. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as the American Glaucoma Society.

Dr. Samuel Reiter, M.D. is a board-certified comprehensive

ophthalmologist devoted to providing exceptional eye care to

every patient he meets. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Dr.

Reiter majored in history at the University of California, Los

Angeles, attended medical school at the University of

California, Davis, then completed ophthalmology residency

at California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) in San

Francisco. Throughout his training, Dr. Reiter pursued global

health opportunities in the developing world, including

Nicaragua, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and India, where his work

amidst high rates of preventable blindness inspired him to

become an ophthalmologist.

Dr. Reiter is an experienced cataract surgeon and is grateful

to be able to improve patients’ quality of life with this

amazing procedure. He strives to make sure that his patients

understand their eye conditions, including cataract,

glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration.

As the chief of International Ophthalmology at CPMC, Dr.

Reiter facilitates resident training opportunities at Aravind

Eye Hospital in southern India and teaches advanced

cataract surgical skills to residents in Alameda Health

System.

Outside of work, Dr. Reiter loves to run, hike, bike, and play

just about any sport. He also likes cooking, gardening,

reading, traveling, and most of all being with his family.

Dr. David Green, M.D, is a board-certified general practice ophthalmologist who graduated from UCSF School of Medicine and went on to complete a residency in ophthalmology at Tulane University in New Orleans in 2020. Having lived in several regions of the United States, (Wisconsin, Louisiana and California) as well as in multiple countries in South America, he enjoys working with a diverse patient population and is fluent in Spanish.  His passion for international medical volunteer work has taken him to Latin America and Africa where he performed sight-restoring surgeries for patients who otherwise lacked access to modern medical treatments.

On a daily basis his work involves the treatment of diverse medical and surgical conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, among others.

Dr. Green seeks to blend the use of state-of-the-art clinical and surgical tools with his down-to-earth, compassionate style of caring for his patients.

Outside of work he finds enjoyment in scuba diving, hiking, nature and underwater photography, as well as backpacking.
